The Great Goddess, Mother Earth, is both womb and tomb of humanity - the sacred source of perpetual renewal. Though her cult has been ruthlessly suppressed and manipulated, she endures as a powerful ancient memory manifested in her myriad mythological and religious aspects as Gaia and Cybele, Isis and Kali, Tara and the Virgin Mary.
Today the sacred feminine is at last recognised as an archetypal ideal, symbolic of wholeness, strength and mystery.
