Hypnerotomachia Poliphili Gallery
Hypnerotomachia Poliphili is one of the most famous books in the world, a strange, allegorical, erotic romance, originally published by Aldus Manutius in 1499 and endlessly referred to in studies of art and culture ever since, yet the edition published by Thames & Hudson in 1999 (in the same size and format as the original) was the first complete English translation. The new edition reproduces the first in all but size – it is about a third smaller – while retaining all the text and illustrations.
The original woodcut illustrations are a primary source for Renaissance ideas on architecture, landscape and costume and we are making every one of them available here to study on screen or to print out.
Graffiti World Gallery
To celebrate the publication of Graffiti World: Street Art from Five Continents, Thames & Hudson invited graffiti artists Above, Kid Acne, Adam Neate, Other, Paris, and Nick Walker to create graffiti on the packaging of each of the 600 copies of the limited edition (sold out!).
