Wally Olins

Wally Olins was perhaps the world’s most experienced brand practitioner. He was chairman of Saffron and co-founded the brand consultancy Wolff Olins.

At Saffron, Wally worked with the Government of Poland, Lloyd’s of London and the Royal Opera House among others. At Wolff Olins, he led the team that reinvented the BT brand. Other clients included Orange, 3i, Akzo Nobel, Tata, Repsol, Q8, The Portuguese Tourist Board, Prudential, Renault and Volkswagen. He was a visiting lecturer at the Saïd Business School at Oxford, Lancaster University and Copenhagen Business School and was a revered commentator on branding. He wrote seven books including the seminal Corporate Identity, first published in 1989. His most recent, Brand New, was published in 2014.

Born in London and educated at Oxford, Wally was awarded a CBE in 1999.
Wally Olins died on April 14th 2014 aged 83.
