World-renowned illustrated publisher Thames & Hudson is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Office
Manager to join our Operations Department, based in our new, vibrant King’s Cross head office. Reporting to the Head of IT & Facilities, you will be pivotal in shaping and driving outstanding workplace services, managing facilities, coordinating internal events, and promoting a supportive and inclusive office culture for our 170 employees.
Key Responsibilities:
· Overseeing the smooth daily operation and maintenance of our office facilities, ensuring consistently high standards
· Managing internal space, office layout changes, desk assignments, and expansion planning
· Coordinating workplace events, including our annual Christmas party
· Supervising reception operations, the visitors’ welcome and secure access systems.
· Managing contracts for cleaning, maintenance, HVAC, security, and other office services, ensuring value and
reliability.
· Responsibility for Health & Safety compliance, including risk assessments, emergency procedures, and training.
· Administering the Operations budget, negotiating vendor agreements, and ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
· Managing inventory control and supplies to maintain operational efficiency.
· Supporting insurance processes and liaising with brokers for effective risk management.
· Leading a small team, including development and appraisals.
Skills, Experience & Attributes:
· Proven office management experience supporting a similar workforce, ideally in the creative industries.
· Strong experience organising seamless internal office events.
· Demonstrable success in managing and developing teams.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
· High numeracy, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
· Ability to work autonomously, multi-task efficiently, and take ownership of responsibilities.
· Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Professional, approachable, and committed to promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
