Kevin Lygo started his career in TV as a comedy script writer before becoming a General Trainee at the BBC in the early 1980s. He then directed films in the Music & Arts department, mainly for Omnibus, including British Surrealism, Chopin Piano Sonatas and the life and works of Cimabue. In the 1990s he was a dealer in Islamic Art in London and Paris. After producing Comic Relief and many other Entertainment programmes, he was appointed as Director of Television at Channel 4 from 2000 until 2010, when he joined ITV, first as it's Head of Studios, and from 2016 to the present is the Director of Television and Managing Director of Media and Entertainment. He was made a Fellow of the RTS in 2018.
