My fluttering, chirping, hopping bird was gone.
Its body was still there, a silent, feathery shape,
but all life had left it.

Long or short, every life on earth comes to an end some day. But what happens when we die? Michel Streich’s book is an honest and beautiful guide for curious children about life’s biggest mystery.

Press Reviews

Accessible and poignant ...the story delicately explores themes of mortality, the cycle of life, and the emotions that emerge when we lose a loved one. Streich’s drawings are simple yet evocative, with the colour and composition subtly mirroring the emotional journey and helping balance the realities of grief with a message of hope
